This is the most bittersweet announcement, but I am leaving my post as Executive Director. It has been an honor to partner with all of you to serve Neighborhood Clinic and the greater Tacoma area. Reflecting on my four and a half years here, seeing such a great group of people support the clinic – from the volunteers, to board members, to staff, to patients, to surrounding partners, donors, and community members – is a clear demonstration of Neighborhood Clinic’s longstanding legacy and excellent work. I am fully confident the clinic will thrive under new leadership who will take the organization to new territories.
The reason for my departure is to focus on my small business. I am looking forward to resting and resetting from this pandemic season and then will work on growing Civic Roasters, a coffee roasting business I started with some friends a few years ago. Civic is a social business that is committed to the community; our vision is to provide opportunities for the most marginalized to receive training and employment, and we are particularly hopeful about employing formerly incarcerated women. We’re looking to open up a brick and mortar in Tacoma in the coming year.
My last day is next Monday, November 8. Thank you for your support and partnership. It’s been an honor to work with you all.
Sincerely,
Benita Ki,
Executive Director
